Hello

I was trying to update my Ipad 2 to the latest ios, but while copying purchased apps to itunes, it seemed to get stuck (it said it wa copying the first app, and the progress bar did not move for 3 hours). So I disconnected from itunes and did a reset - pressing the home+sleep buttons together fofor about 15 secs. Now the apple logo is displayed on a blank screen. I have tried pressing the sleep and also sleep+home for 15 secs again, but all I can get is either a completely blank screen or the blank screen with the apple logo.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks

Try and force your iPad into Recovery Mode

    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.

    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.

3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.

    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.

Thanks. I can get to recovery mode, but I am concerned about losing apps and photos etc if I do a recovery. Will I be able to recover these ?

If you have no backup, you'll loose your data.

You can re-download your apps from:

    App Store>Purchased

Note: Always Backup, Backup and Backup when using any computer or tabulate.
