i think at this point we are unsure if the problem is that apple has once again decided to leave something older in the dust (as they've been doing a LOT lately) or that you've found a bug in itunes 11 that will be addressed at a later date. just how old are these ipods? if they were mine and i had to choose between itunes 11 and my ipods i would choose my ipods. right now i would look around the itunes forums and see if anyone else has this problem.

I am having the same issue and I am so bummed!! I wish I did not download the newer version because now I cant download all my new songs to my IPod!! It is an IPod classis, it has over 4000 songs on it and it still works great, I will be sooo disappointed if I can no longer download new songs.......please fix this!!!!!

I have an old 20BG ipod which I have just brought out of mothballs. I have itunes 11 . I am bummed that it will not sync with itunes 11!!!
Come on Apple---fix this for us loyal users--please!!!!
