In our new home I have a DSL router that is also the phone company's wireless base station.  For a variety of reasons I don't want to use the telco's wireless network but I know my internal (say Airplay) network runs like a pig here and it ran fine at my old place.  I had a cable router in my old place that did not have wireless capabilities so I'm suspecting there is some kind of contention between the Airport base station and the DSL router.  The base station is connected to the DSL router via Ethernet.  I have my Apple TV on the same wireless network (Airport based) as my MAC.  When I try to watch MAC movies on my AppleTV using AirPlay its glacial....
