Hi All,

MacMini 10.8.2  iPhoto 9.4.2, iTunes 11

When uploading to either iPhone or ipad. Not all the photos come in as requested.

All iPhoto libraries are grayed out (no choice avaiable)

Checked iPhoto Library Manager, No "&" in library.

Thought upgrading to iPhoto 11 would aleviate the problem.

I know many people have this problem.

Any help would be accepted.

Open your iPhoto LIbrary package in the Finder as shown in this screenshot:

    open.PNG

Find and drag the iPod Cache Folder to the Trash.

Launch iPhoto and try syncing again.

Do yo have an iCloud accunt setup on all of your devices and Mac?  If so try creating a Photo Stream of those problem photos and see if you can get them into a PS on the iPad.  If you can you can copy them to the Photo Library on the iPad.

In case it's a permissions issue with some of the photos make a temporary, backup copy of the library if you don't already have one (Control-click on the library and select Duplicate from the contextual menu) and try the following:

1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.

2 - Since only one option can be run at a time start with #1 followed by #3 and #4 as needed.

I don't do photos with my iPad but you might try resetting your iPad or whatever it's called and then resync.

What are the formats of those older photos that didn't get synced with the iPad?

Select a thumbnail and use the File ➙ Show in Finder ➙ Original menu option.  That will take you to the file in a Finder window where you can view the extension of the file.

Are any of these scanned grayscale (B/W) photos?
