For the moment posting a feedbak at:
could give a very small chance for a repair but even this not in the near future. I said very small chance because I think that even this feedback function is just for show and nobody care about it. When I posted the negative feedback, in the pulldown list for iTunes version the 10.6 was the last one, 11 missing as well as 10.7 and this give very clear signal that they actually don't care.
This behaviour it was present also on the time when Steve Jobs was leading the company but, in some extent the negative impact of such behaviour was counterbalanced by Steve's vision and talent.
Now nobody is having a unified view on how and where Apple is going. Now everybody with some power/position in Apple try to show his brilliance and no one is overviewing.
I'm pretty sure that is this feature massacre was proposed to Steve some carrers in Apple will have been finished on spot.
What is more disturbing is how fast positive reviews were published. It was not enough time to make a real proffesional review by looking into the changes and asseting the new funcionality. A review is not done by just starting the programm and posting your personal view on the programm from your preference point of view. To be proffesional you must first succeed to be objective in your judgements about the functionality, feature set, egonomy etc on the software. You can insert your personal prefernces there but just for reference and not as a base of the judgement. it was far mor fus on Maps software that is for from beeing used in the same extent as iTunes but it seems that there was also the competition involved.
There is more to be said but I feel that I waste my time without any possible results.
I'm very very dissapointed.
Don't forgot to post your feedback on iTunes a t the link above. Maybe somebody is still listening.

Wow, this is hugely disappointing! I LOVE coverflow and use it all the time! Working or doing housework with iTunes playing and a quick glance at coverflow I can see image, artist and track. I would NOT have upgraded if I realised I would lose coverflow. Why not at least give us an option.... This has been a fantastic feature since it was introduced. Please give it back ASAP!!!

If this helps, it is possible to have iTunes 11 display cover art in a large format. At the top of the window, where the playbar is, click on the tiny icon of the CD album art. It will pop up in a new window, just the album art with a playbar and play controlls at the bottom. You can make it as big as you want.
It's not the same as CoverFlow, but at least you can see a large image of the album art.

Thanks FakeQueequeg for this suggesiton. I had just found that option myself: and that led to another annoying/frustrating/sad discovery: this does not display the album cover art, just the artwork associated with that track. For me, who has 582 albums (approx 42Gb) of music in iTunes, I spent months and months years ago when coverflow was introduced adding album artwork to Track 1 of every album. This meant whichever track was being played I had the album artwork displayed. Of course now, when it plays individual tracks, it does not have artwork associated with EVERY track - so the majority of images is the boring (and quickly becoming horrible) black itunes icon ..... grrrr. I do not intend to spend many more months copy the artwork to EVERY track. For a minute there I thought I had a cludgy workaround in place - when I clicked on the View Grid option, it seemed to show the current track playing, but it did not move on when the tracks changed (I am playing in Random mode. I clicked off it to go to all my music and now that I have come back I don't seem to be able to find that display option again - not sure how I did it the first time around. Anyhow, enough time-wasting with Apple....

Both Everplay and Coverstream seem to have some scrollable form of coverflow.
Everplay looks like it has LastFM support. Not sure if it still works and if that can be tied into iTunes somehow.
They both only work on macOS tho. I still haven't found a solution for windows other than running 10.6/7 sandboxed or in VM.

Bring it Back! It's So Sad.... The Cover flow may have been one of the best ideas that allowed ergonomic browsing experience, unlike anyother interface at it's time. Why can't they have this as an option? did they really have to eliminate it?1

I have a work around.... downgrade back to iTunes 10.7 Worked for me. iTunes 11 didn't really offer anything new anyway.
You can get iTunes 10.7 here:
(it's a legit from Apple download)

Cover flow was the best feature of Itunes. Bad decision on apples end. Should have researched user preferences a little more. Overhaul without warning. Absolutely brutal. Media Monkey here I come....

Apple lost it court battle over Cover Flow and had to pay at 650M fine. So I'm sure as a part of the settlement that Cover Flow had to be removed from future versions of iTunes.
Hard to believe that the richest company in the world couldn't pay a few extra dollars to keep Cover Flow.
The greedy humans (APPLE and whoever sued APPLE) have killed Cover Flow... Gone!

I downgraded to 10.6.3, using time machine, but unfortunately I got the unknown errror (-42408) when loging in to itunes, and also accesing the itunes store. I've tried to uprade baxk to 10.7, and still get the error. All I have to say is that I've been playing wt this all day, following ideas here, and I've given up. Forget iTunes, it's mp3's sound terrible anyway.

Apple killed few more features in iTunes11 along CoverFlow

This would be a logical explanation (still a bad excuse, but logical . . .) However, not true. The Coverflow ruling was overturned and the decision to remove it had nothing to do with the lawsuit. Just a horrible, horrible decsion on Apple's part.
PLEASE leave feedback at "iTunes feedback." That will do the most good. I've been leaving feedback daily.
