I thought it was a great post too.  At least it shows they are reading these posts, but it would be good if they'd respond with some explanation, rather than just deleting constructive comments.  A date to restore C F would  even better!

Thanks, Comboi -- guess you saw my post before it was deleted? I thought the same thing, that at least it shows that Apple is reading these posts, but I'm really not sure about that. Perhaps it was deleted by a programmed bot that was triggered by a particular word (?) or maybe it was just deleted because of its length (?), or perhaps external links aren't allowed by Apple? In any case, I have written the author of the allthings review, and hope that he may get back to me.

Itunes 11 felt like a banal, mainstream, corporate wash lacking any kind of excitement or vision. So many lackluster screens/options to click through. Presentation of the music felt like stale crackers laid out flat on a paper plate. Thank G*d I was able to restore Itunes 10.7...

Absolutely perfect description of iTunes 11! Of all the thousands of comments here, this has to be the absolutely best one!

Well for now I have 10.7 and Cover Flow using Windows 7 in Parallels. It isn't as attractive as it was in OS X but for now it'll have to do.

I wish they'd announce what features they remove as well as the new stuff when they issue software updates. This has caused me no end of grief as I've had to download replacement hi-res artwork for stuff '11' just stripped out.

Apple really needs to get a grip. All these poor software decisions will severely harm their reputation in the long run and I'm thinking of selling my shares too.

Coverflow was the best way to view albums and movies on a TV from a couch across the room.

Apple made a bad decsion by removing this options for their customers. They clearly DON'T know what we really want.

Why can’t they just make Coverflow an option just like in previous versions? If you don’t like Coverflow, then don’t use it! If you think it “slows down” the program, then make it an add-on option. I don’t care what any Apple reps have to say on here. Yes, believe it or not, millions of us liked iTunes not just for the management of music, but also the amazing feeling of flipping through your old LPs or CDs with cover art and all! Itunes has always been about the “coolness” factor. If I wanted a simple music program, then I’d just use of the of the other 1,000+ programs out there that show your music in grid view. Coverflow was one of the major additions to iTunes that made it stand out from all the rest. Coverflow was the most amazing GUI interface added to any music management software ever! Now it looks and feels like all the other “simple” programs out there. The iTunes 11 “upgrade” isn’t iTunes at all. It’s a horrible imposter.

God I hope they do. What on earth they would ever get rid of Coverflow is beyond all logical thought.

Along wt a missing coverflow I was missing 1/4 of my artwork, 1000 songs so I returned to iTunes 10.6.3. Only 4 albums wre missing art, after getting album artwork using the advanced tab.  For some reason I'm geting error -42408, when I log in. I also get the error trying to buy something, say the free Childrens Beatles Yellow Submarine in the itunes store. I never buy any lousy lossy mp3, from apple, anymore anyway, so all is good. Apple and itunes have spelled out their own death.

-That's crazy Greenmind! Glad I didn't mess around with it too much. I just played around with it for about 15 minutes or so, until I realized what they had done. I know there was probably an easier/better way of downgrading to 10.7 without losing so much artwork, but I got so fed up, I completely uninstalled iTunes 11, went into everysingle folder on my computer and removed all aspects and remnants of iTune and Apple (with the exception of my actual music of course). I then found 10.7, installed it, re sync'd my Music folder and Voilà! I now have my beloved Coverflow back. I will hold onto to 10.7 for as long as possible, and if I can get away with it, I will never upgrade again. If my iPhone forces me to upgrade, then I will finally do something I said I'd never do...Jailbreak my phone.

Right I have got Cover Flow back!

You need AppZapper http://www.appzapper.com and Cocktail http://www.maintain.se/cocktail If you don't have an installer for iTunes 10.7 then you can get it from my Dropbox here...

    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/oa3o0fark105s08/d9yDg12Mse

Download these first. Then copy all your media files to a location outside of the iTunes folder in your Home folder - preferably on a separate drive as I did.

Then launch AppZapper and go to AppZapper Preferences and uncheck 'Keep Apple Applications Safe'. Then Quit and Restart AppZapper. When the window opens drag iTunes 11 from your Applications folder to AppZapper. It will then add all associated files.

    Zap it!

Then use Cocktail to repair permissions on your primary drive and restart.

Then reinstall iTunes 10.7, add your your files back and enjoy the glory of CoverFlow.

This works. I tested it on my laptop that was running '11'... :-)
