Thanks for a quick input.
I do have many files from my previous version of Numbers and Pages.
6 years worth.
How do I change the permissions or even change "Autosave" permissions.
Have tried in the Finder> Get Info, to no avail.

I found the answer.
I only have one Autosave information folder. Found in /Users/YOUR USERNAME/Library
When I was locked out of it, the folder appeared with a small red minus sign in circle badge attached. Gone now as I added my username to the permissions list in ...Get Info
Excellent thanks - I also found the Autosave Information folder by looking for the 'no entry' red icon you mentioned.
What puzzled me is that this folder doesn't appear in a search of Finder for the folder name 'Autosave Information'.
All works now, thanks for your help
P.S. For anyone with same problem - this screenshot shows the folder, 6th from top- change permissions on this one (you'll see the 'no entry' icon in this view when you first get there).
Thanks again for your help,

First, I am glad you figured your problem out. I think the Library is hidden from Spotlight searches because you aren't supposed to have to work with its contents directly.
I haven't moved past Snow Leopard yet, so I can't check, but I thought the Autosave Information was only for information on documents that have never been saved to a real file, and that once a document is saved, the data goes directly to its file. Do you never save any files?

Thanks for your help. You got me started towards the finding of a conclusion.
I have been saving my files for years spreadsheets and etc.
Just bought the new Macmini with ML 10.8. and Numbers and Pages updated.
Had no idea of Autosave until no more "Save As" showed.

One of the problems with manuals, either online or in print, is that they are often not up to date with the latest changes. That isn't to say you shouldn't read them, but a lot of helpful information can be found at other sources.
I regularly follow the postings on several of these Support Communities (there is a thread on this forum about this Save As… situation with over a thousand posts). I also read the discussions on the Macintouch site and at MacOSXHints.
Simply looking through the menus (both with and without the Option key) and looking through the panes and tabs of the inspector can teach you a lot about the possibilities availlable in an application.

The Apple introduction to ML can be found at: http://www.apple.com/osx/whats-new/features.html
You will find a reference to Save As under Autosave. For some reason they only mention the Keyboard Shortcut.

Thanks for the info. Went and downloaded the 200 changes.
Interesting, listed as a Keyboard Shortcut.
What do you know about ITunes and uploading photo albums to iPhone?
MacMini 10.8.2 iPhoto 9.4.2, iTunes 11
When uploading to either iPhone or ipad. Not all the photos come in as requested.
All iPhoto libraries are grayed out (no choice avaiable)
Checked iPhoto Library Manager, No "&" in library.
Thought upgrading to iPhoto 11 would aleviate the problem.
I know many people have this problem.
Any help would be accepted.

I'm a new iOS 6 user myself and I'm just getting my feet wet on the transfers over iCloud. If it works, but not perfectly, I doubt I have enough experience to comment on the problem. I'm happy that I have the PhotoStream business working and can move photos between devices. So far all that I have noticed is that it takes some time between when you try to move photos into the PhotoStream icon in iPhoto before they actually appear there. Probably a sync delay issue. I would have thought that they would appear immediately on the Mac since they originaled there, but that must not be the case.
