    Same here, I don't have match and can't add any new music. It shows up in the search but won't show up in the library. If I try and click on the actual MP3 file from finder it pulls iTunes to the foreground but never actually plays the song.

    I can cofirm that the iTunes Match method of getting the songs to display (mentioned on previous page) works.

    After turning on iTunes Match, I can now see all songs, including ones that were only displaying on the Recently Added playlist.
    There are still 4 movies that I've added, which are showing up in Recently Added, but nowhere else.
    Suggestions?

    To resolve: go to iTunes Match and mark that you don't want. Comand+Q to close iTunes, open the iTunes, import other thing. The musics will apear in library

    I'm having the same problem when adding movies.  It appears that iTunes isn't updating its database.  I quit iTunes and dragged the database out of the iTunes music folder and restarted iTunes.  It created a new database and all my songs and movies are gone but I was able to add new movies.  I don't know what this means.  Maybe it needs to be rebuilt?  Does anybody know how to rebuild the database?

    This worked for me.  I quit iTunes and moved the file called iTunes Music Library.xml from the iTunes folder to my Desktop.  I restarted iTunes and it recreated the file and I was then able to add music and movies to iTunes.   A couple of interesting things...the file name is now iTunes Library.xml (it dropped Music from the name) and the file size went from 629KB to 8.2 MB so something is definitely different about this file.  I hope this helps.

    I found the simplest solution to be

    1) import the movie as you normally would;

    2) go to Home Movies;

    3) Get Info on the movie, and under Options>Media Kind, change it from Home Movie to Movie.

    It now shows up as it did in prior versions of iTunes.

    Turning off "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases" (in preferences not the similarly named option in the View menu) fixed this for me.  Even turning it back on again the problem did not return.  While I had the problem the cloud icon was showing the scanning lines and now it doesn't so somehow or other it seems to get stuck synchronizing with the cloud.

    @zcitron, your solution worked for me. All my manually added music is now showing up. Thanks.

    zcitron - where do I find "Show iTunes in Cloud purchases"?  I've looked in preferences in both iTunes and "Cloud" in the systems preferences - yet can't find it.  It is likely quite obvious - but I just can't seem to find it.

    I'm having the same problems and am hoping your solution works for me as well.

    Thank you in advance...
