I need to change the short user name for an account, and I have the info on how to go about that, once I'm logged in as root. I've read http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1528. When I got to step 9, I found I'd left root enabled from some time back. (I know I shouldn't do that. I promise I'll disable it as soon as I get the user name changed, OK?)

My problem is that—having evidently not done this before—I expect to see "root" as a user at the login screen. But I don't find it. It still shows only the same users as my other Admin and normal users.

What part about "Login as root" am I missing?

Thanks.
