Yes, this is possible. Simply set Acess Controll Lists using the File Sharing settings of 10.6 ServerAdmin.app. See the Server Administration manual for an explanation of Acess Control Lists.

Yes, with ACL I can set different rights.
But how do I make that the user of group B, which shall have no privileges for subfolder D not only has no access to it, but does not even SEE it (no folder with the forbidden red/white signal, just nothing)

I don't believe there is any mechanism for doing that on HFS+. That's sorta the point of having individual shares.
