Hello, everyone. I tried searching this forum but I didn't find the answer to my problem. At least not a solution that I understand.

Here's the thing:

All my "regular" contacts are on iCloud since the MobileMe era. By regular, I mean that I had never turned on the twitter and facebook integration in iOS, nor did I "update" my contacts with those services. They were "vanilla" Name/Surname/Company/Addresses/Tel/Fax/Email/etc contacts. Everything was ok. Those contacts were typed in one by one on my first-gen iPhone back in 2007. And all those contacts were available to the rest of my devices the following years. No probs.

Fast forward a few years and skip the changes of iMacs/iPhones/iPads I made. I still had all my contacts OK.

Now that I got my new iPhone 5 I thought, hey why not enable facebook and twitter system-wide, and update my contacts too?

So I did. For facebook only. Thank God I didn't also do that with twitter.

Now, I have my regular contact cards, and some new contact cards that were created by facebook.

I merged/linked those contacts that were the same person. Lets give you an example:

My cousin George Tianis was on my regular contacts, with his phone/address/email/telephone.

In his facebook, he is known by another name. He uses George Dogspot (to promote his one-man job).

Of course, iOS might get confused by this. It sees an email/phone that is assigned to two entities. OK, lets help it. I merged the 2 cards into one.

Everything is OK for a day. The next day, I get:

1 card that has "George Tianis" WITH the updated info AND it sais that it consists of 2 cards (iCloud+Facebook) and a few seconds latter it gets AUTOMATICALLY RENAMED to George Dogspot even though I specifically told it to use the other data as the combined Name+Surname! (edit contact > icloud card > use this name as unified card)

1 card that has "George Dogspot" and is a plain Facebook contact card.

So, suddently 2 George Dogspot. One facebook, one merged.

I tried going to Groups and turning OFF the facebook contacts. Yet those 2 cards above are still visible. One facebook, one merged, and no matter how many tiimes I tell it to use the correct data in the merged card, it keeps renaming to Dogspot.

Did I help you understand my problem? And this doesn't happen to George only. About 30 contacts get auto-renamed every day.

Any suggestions?
