What's the best way to migrate photos to my new iPhone 5 besides iCloud?

iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.1

The way I did it using win7.  Tether (usb) cord to computer.  Put the pictures you want to move to the phone in a folder and then copy and paste the folder to the iphone.  You will need to install itunes in win7 or at least extract the drivers so windows explorer can discover the phone.  Each folder will be considered an album of its own, and will not add to the "camera roll".  I don't know how to put pictures in the camera roll.

You cannot put pictures into the camera roll from the computer. Syncing photos from the computer to the iPhone is covered here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236

So true ChrisJ4203.  I attempted to duplicate what I said I had done and could not.  One can find the iphone device in windows explorer, and copy and paste photos off of the device, but you cannot transfer photos to the iphone using this simple method.  My bad advice.  The instructions in the support URL are the procedures I used in the past.  I apologize for the mis-direction.  Noted, you cannot transfer individual pics to the iphone using itunes, but rather folders which contain individual pics.  These folders convert to albums on the iphone, not in the camera roll, but accessable in albums on the iphone non-the-less.
