Last night my brother in law tried to help me trouble shoot why I could not see my pictures in photo stream.  Both he and I have PC's.  When he went into screen saver there was a choose of computers under photo stream and that is what he has checked to get his pictures but my computer does not show up and I think that is the problem.  Why would my computer not show up?  I thought it was because I had my computer hard wired to the modem through and ethernet cable but I since changed it to a wireless connection the same as the apple TV but that didnt help.  Everything else is checked the same as his.  Home sharing is on and the computer in apple TV is the correct itunes account.  The music is in itunes match and that works great. The only thing that doesnt seem to work is the screen saver?

Why is "computer" not showing up under photos in screen saver?

Do you really mean photostream, you can only connect to one photostream account at a time.

I am just trying to view my pictures from my computer in my house with my apple TV.

My brother in law was telling me his set up.

    He clicks settings

    He clicks Sreen Saver

    He clicks photos

    He clicks computer

    So he sees

    natrional geographic

    animals

    flowers

    trailers

    flickr

    photo stream

    computer

I don't see computer on mine

Then photostream isn't anything to do with it.

I'm assuming homsharing is set up and you can watch movies etc from your computer. Have you actually shared any photos with homesharing in iTunes.

Yes, imatch works and home sharing is turned on so I can see movies I have purchased from itunes.

When I take a photo on my iphone or ipad it goes to the photo stream and it can be seen on the apple TV.  The photo also is set to my computer though icloud.

    So I have 2 issues I believe:

The photos I have on my computer set up in photo stream are never sent to my ios devices?

And of course I can get the photo stream through my apple TV.

To answer your question have I actually shared photos with homesharing in itunes?  I dont think so because I dont know how or it doesnt work.

I have homesharing turned on in my iTunes and my Apple TV but there seems to be no sharing going on?????

Photostream photos won't show up unless you are logged into your Apple ID in the photostream feature on the Apple TV, only one ID can be used.

Photos on your computer will only show on the Apple TV after they have been selected as homesharing photos in iTunes.

I am signed in under my Apple ID in the photo stream feature on the Apple TV!

I do have my photos selected in iTunes on my homesharing!

I think it is a problem to do with the "network" connection via my internet/router/wireless router from my computer to my ios devices.

I do recall that it did work once but maybe that was in a dream????

    What makes you think that.

Well because my brother in law has "computer" come up under photo stream in the photo part of the screen saver on the apple TV and I don't, and everything else to be set up correctly?  He has computer clicked on his apple tv and that is how he "streams" his pictures.

Although they would still come on my ipod, ipad and iphone, I would think but they dont come up there either.

    Im so confused and frustrated.

    Any other suggestions?

Just going back a little, you stated

Yes, imatch works and home sharing is turned on so I can see movies I have purchased from itunes.

For the avoidance of doubt, can you confirm the movies you can watch are from your computer (ie, from the computer icon on the Apple TV) and not redownloaded (from the movies icon on the Apple TV)

Winston Winston, I figured it out!  I am so excited!

    Thanks for all your help!

First I reset my photo stream.

I realized after going to my photo stream there were actually no pictures in it.  I thought I had it all set up right but what I actually had was a file called photo stream in my documents I "sort of attached" that file to the actual photo stream, which at times showed photo's in the photo stream.

When I realized there was really no photos in the actual photo stream, through iCloud, I went to iCloud.com and looked up how to add photos to photo stream manually from my PC.

I am in the process of adding all my photo at the moment and I am so excited each time a new photo appears on my TV through Apple TV.

    Thanks for your patience
