Q: Aperture crashes Mac on import

Every time I import photos to Aperture the programme locks up my Mac completely and I have to restart.

I have tried repairing permissions, deleting the plist files, repairing the library and rebuilding the library - no difference.

I am using the latest version of Aperture and the Camera is a Canon EOS 550D

I haven't yet tried reinstalling the software.

Can anyone help?

iMac (20-inch Early 2008), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

I didn't have it connected to a power supply, but the battery was pretty fully charged.

I noticed another strange thing when using the card reader as opposed to the camera when I import video into Final Cut Pro x it will allow me to Import part of a clip as it should, whereas when I import from the camera, it won't let me do that.

So all round, I think from now on I will use the memory card for importing instead of the camera.

This is the first time I have used the forums, and I am so impressed with how helpful you folks have been and how quickly you responded to me.

    Many thanks.

    Frank
