I have Canon MF-4450 installed on Windows 7 via USB and was trying to use it as a network printer from Mac OS X 10.8.2.
Finally I was able to configure correctly and would like to share here. All I did was:
- install printer driver downloaded from http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/imageclass _series onto Mac
- Enable LPD on Windows7 (not LPR)
- Add printer on Mac as an IP printer specifying IP (hostname would work), LPD protocol, Queue name (most important) as "Canon MF4400 Series UFRII LT" as being displayed on Windows' printer name and used "Canon MF4400 Series" driver.
If you do not specify the queue name nor wrong printer name, it does not work (at least for me)

Hi, this thread quite old, still I will try my luck. Does Windows workgroup need to be set up for the KazzyO's solution to work? I can't get the above solution to work, but I don't have the Windows workgroup set up either.
