Hello!

I have recently purchased a mac mini (late 2012 one). I failed to find the screen resolution for my monitor on the display settings. My monitor is 1366 x 768 or

16:9. I connected it to the MAC Mini using the Minidisplay to VGA adaptor. Is there a way I can adjust the screen resolution to the my monitor's? it is not listed on the list.

Please let me know if it is possible.

Thank you

You can adjust resolution in Displays (System Preferences)

VGA is not ideal though. If you have a DVI port on your display you should use it.

Thanks for your help. My problem is that I cannot adjust the screen resolution to 1366x768. I have no problems with the display at all, it's just I can't find the 1366x768 on the display list.

I took a screenshot to explain what I mean. The problem is that the system doesn't support 1366x768, either 1280x1024 or 1344x1024 and higher. Is there a program I can use to make my mac mini detect my monitor's resolution?

    Hi guys,

I have a similar problem but I never changed my monitor or added an external one.

It's just that yesterday my monitor's resolution changed ... The best I can get is 1280 x 800 and its still too big for my screen ... Everytime I move with the mouse up / down / left / right, the monitor moves with it ! When I restarted my computer it fixed itself for about a second (the resolution was perfect for a second) and it changed back to 1280x800...

I have a 2009 MacMini 10.6.8. and I never had problems before, so I hope you can help me find a solution !

    Here's a print screen of the options I have in the Preference menu (sorry but it's in French)Capture d’écran 2014-01-23 à 09.10.54.png

And how my screen looks like ...

    Thanks !

There's a piece of software called SwitchResX that might help.
