iCloud isn't compatible with Office documents, so you have to use another cloud service different to iCloud. Microsoft decided to not give Microsoft Office for Mac iCloud support

1) You can use Microsoft's SkyDrive.app on your Macs.
2) You can upload Microsoft's Word documents to iCloud.com. >> iCloud: Get documents stored on icloud.com
3) If you use Mountain Lion, you can save PDF files in Preview's iCloud Documents Library.
