Hey everyone, I am trying to assemble an application's source code (freeware) to run as a regular mac application by using "cd /path/filename" (path/filename being the path to the applications source folder) then running "sudo ./configure" to configure the source code, but when ive finished running this command i get an error that says "ERROR: there is no C compiler on your system. Make sure that the developer tools are installed"

I can't figure out why I recieved this error, as I have the current version of Xcode, which i'm told has a built in C compiler. Is there anything i'm doing wrong? also i'd like to say that im not a very skilled developer with xcode, because ive only been using xcode for a month now. any help is appreciated, Thanks!

OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
