I bought my i5 on 11/28 and everything worked fine the first 5 days, then on day 6 my wifi at home just stopped working unless I'm 10 ft or closer to my router.  If I'm right next to the router it still works perfectly.  I never had any router issues with my i4 and the other i4 & i4s in the house are still working fine, it's just the i5 with the issue.  It sounds to me like Apple needs to identify the problem and the models affected before a replacement is issued. When I called Apple their fix was to bring the phone in for replacement. I am almost 2hrs from an Apple store also and from the comments on here it appears the odds of having the same problem with a replacement are pretty good.  You also have to wonder if you're getting a refurb, if you pay for a new phone and it is defective you should get a new phone in return.

Still no reaction or fix from Apple. Very dissapointed. I've been a loyal apple user since the original iPhone and while Apple products have had their problems Apple has always fixed them. They seem to be ignoring the iPhone 5 users. Lesson learned.

IPhone5, NO WIFI unless I'm 1ft away from my router.  When I do get on connection is slow and intermitent.

Not a router issue as I have other apple devices (Another IPhone5, iPhone3Gs, iPhone4, Apple TV, Macbook Pro, iPad1 & iPad3) in the house that all work fine with full strength signal.  Same issue when I'm at my friends or at work, No Wifi.  It is definitly 100% a phone issue.  It is only effecting a certain batch.  Could be either Software or hardware related.  I went to the apple store and they are not aware of any wifi issues.  BULL $h!t.

Apple Please make an announcement as to what the issue is!

Please do not coach your staff to deny a known issue!

Please come out with a fix soon!

    Hi guys

Just thought that I would add my experience concerning wi-fi and my new iPhone 5.

I am very disappointed with my wi-fi experience. It is slow, it drops out, I am unable to connect.

Alas I don't know too much about the tech side so I am loathed to do too much concerning the settings. Suffice to say that I have changed my router setting from WPA2 to WPA and it has helped a little but there is no doubt in my mind that it is a serious fault that Apple need to address. All my other devices work well on wi-fi with my router, the common denominator is; it is the iPhone 5 not working as it should.

    Sort it out Apple

    Andy

I've had my iphone 5 for about a month and wifi worked beautifully until a few days ago. Suddenly it is unable to connect to known networks and on the rare occasion that it does, nothing will load properly. I've tried all the tips to forget network settings, reconnect, and upgrade router firmware, etc. I have this problem on my home network and at work, but have no problem connecting with other devices (laptops and ipad2). This is really frustrating and disappointing and I really hope there is a fix soon!

Still nothing from Apple, what a let down. I hope the quality didn't pass away with Steve, I know its not a nice thing to say, but maybe the new guy just doesn't care as much. Funny thing is people who see my phone say whow! iphone 5 your so lucky how is it and I have nothing good to say because without WIFI its unless. Imagine all the negitive word of mouth feedback. I was thinking of getting an ipad mini for my little guy, but I'd have to be nuts if this is any indication of what could happen.

I bought this phone 3 weeks ago.  I had problems with wifi from the get go.  From what I am reading, all the posts here are falling on deft ears.  It seems that Apple does not read these posts.  I believe it is time for all to take this to the media.  I am considering going to my carrier and asking for a 4s replacement.

iPhone 5, 32 gb. Cost 749.99 plus tax. Wifi not working. You go to apple store and it connects there no problem. I don't know what to do. The associate looked at me as I was lieing :(

STEVE JOBS I WISH U HAD LIVED ANOTHER 20 years.

Apple please look into this problem just like the way you did for MAPS.

The worst thing i ever done was trade my 4s in for a 5 , i won't bother returning the handset as it seems that finding one that works 100% is rarer than rocking horse 5hit ..... i'll tell you what i WILL do though , i WILL never purchase another Apple product ever again . I'm sitting here with a £750 phone that doesnt work properly , i bet my £750 that is now in Apples bank account is working just fine for them !! .... APPLE , SORT YOUR 5HIT OUT !!

Same issues as most people here.  Have an iphone 3GS and after installing ios6, the wifi connected full strength but there was no internet.

Upgraded to two new iphone 5s, both of which worked for 3 weeks, then one of them started getting the same

issues.    Full wifi signal on both of them, one of which connects to the internet and the other just spins and times out.

Same wifi settings, same network, same location.

Played with all the suggested router settings (changing from AES to TKIP, dropping to WEP or unsecured, changing the wireless channels, changing the wireless N frequency, changing the SSID) but no joy.

Renewing the lease or turning wifi on and off would get internet working for maybe 10 seconds, before spinning again.   Note through all this time, the other iPhone 5 (bought at the same time) and my two laptops worked without any problems at all.

Finally, tried a hard reboot of the iphone (power and round button) and its working again.

Sounds like a fundamental bug in ios6 somewhere - recommend people try a hard reset and see if that helps.

Come on Apple, sort it out!

Had the iP5 for about a month wifi was ok. Until a few days ago, tried everything from hard reset (after icloud back up) Router update etc,etc and guess what folks , yes no different but it doesn't seem like i am on my own. All the symptoms as others (have to be within 10feet of my router and even then it drops wifi)

Really wished i had not got rid of my iP4 for the latest "UPGRADE" (LOL)

Apple if any one is watching and still not denying there is a problem please can we have a working software upgrade so we can use OUR very expensive latest technology all singing and all dancing (lol) iPhone5...

because as it stands the phone does NOT do what it says on the "tin" like using wifi in the same room as the router..

Guess we are the Guinea Pigs again ehhh Apple ???

Same issue here; I upgraded to iPhone 5, home wifi worked great for two weeks, then no wifi, super fustrating, brought back to Apple store in UTC mall, apple guy said that my router needed to be updated, so went home reset router, updated and cleaned.  iPhone 5 worked fine for 2 hours, then wouldn't connect with my password.  Absolutely iPhone 5 issue!!! Since my apple TV works, iPad, and other smart phones connect no problem.  Troubleshooted iPhone 5, complete reset settings, restore, etc...nothing works!!! Really just wish I kept my iPhone 4!!!!
