With Random posts that claim those who have access to beta versions of the next update, it sounds like no-one shouldnt be holding their breaths for an update that will fix their wifi issues.
its Christmas time soon, take a chance and buy an alternative Wifi device other than Apple Brand, NetGear Brand, umm anymore that we know vendor wise having an issue ?.
We're talking compatibility here regardless who we blame being Apple or WiFi Vendors
I know myself through my discoveries since day one of this issue, i'll be removing anything that i have which is Netgear and keeping my eyes on Belkin or Cisco for my company sites
As for my Iphone 4S's and Iphone 5's, I might also have a change to remove these and look at LG's new Smart Phones or Google Phones in the coming years to come if i dont see any progress of improvement.
Its a Shame my companies phone bill costs arent the same cost of buying all these iphones, i'd hate to be the Account Manager .
Perhaps everyone, post below what WiFi devices they are using with these issus so we can make a consumer choice to avoid the product and vendor altogether.

You can cross out Cisco. Had a router from 2010 that worked just fine prior to 6.0. After update, could not connect to wifi. I bought a newer Cisco router, and same issue. It's better, but still takes about 5 minutes before I am connected to the internet via wifi. At least I have internet connection I guess.
This really *****... bought a nexus 7 today. Will let you know how that goes.

It would be nice to be able to try a new router but simply cannot afford a new one especially as no guarantee that it will work. My netgear WNDR 3700 cost over £100 last year plus almost same on the Draytek 2820 router I use as an access point. Two strong routers but same glitches on both. I am so fed up, IOS6 is so bugged it should never of made it out the door. Why they cannot of kept with IOS 5 and continued improving that is beyond me. It's the same with iTunes 11, they changed for the sake of change and it's pretty useless with lost features and annoying bugs.
Apple seems to be to bring new products and features but at the same point constantly breaking existing features. It means everytime there is an update to IOS or iTunes it becomes a stressful experience. I'm not against new stuff but make sure you iron the bugs out of the existing IOS first.
Anyway, a small glimmer of hope. Some guy on another thread 'BazingaBacon' has posted this. Maybe, just maybe IOS 6 beta has improved the wifi. Only time will tell but in meantime we all have to suffer this dire IOS6.

First, I can't believe how many posts are here regarding this problem. Sadly,all the fixes listed here and elsewhere, including Apple support phone calls (each came with thier own case number, along with a trip to the Apple store), 2 trips to Verizon, purchasing a new router, and a very angry letter to Apple corporate, I no longer have my 4S. I did receive a response from Apple Corporate. SVP was "sorry" that I no longer had the phone because he was going to trouble shoot the issue with me. I explained that I had already spent too much of my time trying to fix their mistake. With no admitting that there is an issue, and nothing more than an apology, I don't think a fix is going to be here anytime soon. I like Apple. I like Apple products. All totaled, my immediate family has had 4 ipod classics, 3 ipod touches, 1 nano, 1 suffle, 1 iphone 4 and 2 iphone 5's. The iphones we have all work on IOS 6. It was only my 4S with the wi-fi issue. I think such a small number of people with Apple products are affected so our collective voices are not going to be heard.
I hope sooner rather than later their will be a fix to this situation. Until then, please keep posting your fixes. Hopefully, we can help each other where Apple has failed!

ago I downloaded what purported to be ios 6.1
it didn't do anything useful. Now you guys are talking
about having to wait for ios 6.1, have I got a beta
version then? anybody who knows how to find out

Yes, it is confusing! It's the difference between v 6.0.1 ( a patch put out a few weeks ago) and 6.1, the next release of the operating system, that is currently in beta.

I don't know if this has already been suggested here, I've looked through a lot of this thread but not all. Found this on another forum and so far it is working for me:
Go to wi-fi settings on iPhone and write down IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router and DNS then turn iPhone off. Go to network settings on iPad, select Static and put the same information in. Turn on iPhone.
When I did this I didn't read correctly and didn't turn iPhone off so iPad was fine and iPhone had the same problem so I turned off iPad, put the information on Static on iPhone and turned iPad back on. So far so good, hope I'm not back tomorrow to say problem is back!

Apple, because of your lack of interest I'm now expending more money on my data plan. Instead of being able to connect to my wifi I have to use the 3g/4g connection like more cheaper devices consider as a simple task. Even my 4 year old blackberry can connect to any wifi without a problem.
You have to give us an answer now!!! Please contact me. You are selling products that doesn't work. For me is as simple as that. I do not see why I have to buy a new router or jump over fire if other devices can connect to the same wifi!!!
GIVE US A SOLUTION NOW. This can not go any longer without any official answer!
All the solutions presented in this discussion doesn't solve the problem. I'm using a time capsule and all my other apple device work without a problem (MACBOOK, MACBOOK AIR, IPAD 1, 2 AND 3 GEN, IPOD TOUCH, IPHONE 4, IPHONE 4S AND ANOTHER IPHONE 5) WITH IOS 6.0.1

All I have to say about this is junk iphone5 is junk. Wish I could have my iphone 4 back. How many time do I need to drive 1 hour one way to the Apple Store to keep getting phone that work in there store but will not work anywhere else. They are selling junk.

For what it's worth, I have been having intermittent wifi connection issues at my home network with a variety of Apple devices (macbooks, ipad, and iphone) connected through a Airport Extreme to a Netgear dsl modem. Other than repeatedly cycling wifi off and on, none of the suggested fixes worked. Sometimes the device would connect fine, other times it wouldn't, and whenever a device went to sleep it was anyone's guess whether it would connect when reawakened.
I finally found the problem this week. Both my modem and the Airport Extreme were set to bridge mode. Neither device was assigning IP addresses to the various devices. Switching the Airport router mode to DHCP and NAT has (for me) solved everything. No more chasing failed connections, and every device finds the wifi immediately when taken out of sleep.
I never noticed the problem until I had the iPad and bought the netgear modem to replace an older motorola modem that died. It could be that I simply didn't have enough devices competing for the same network to cause a problem, or the old airport setting worked with the older modem. Either way, it is worth checking your modem and airport settings if you are seeing similar symptoms.

Has anyone tried using the "Reset Network Settings" option? I use this when I need my ios 6 says i have one bar of wifi connection, even though I am 2 feet away from the wireless router. This happens randomly.
And when I do reset network settings, it just resets the phone. I doesn't erase my network settings or forgets any of my networks/password like it is supposed to do. Not sure if this has anything to do with it.

I was facing the same issue, where my ipad third generation after the upgrade to IOS5.01 started disconnecting from the newtork Wifi & started to get very frustrating. I have tried everthing from network settings to ipad reboots...to various other prescribed remedies.. the one that really worked was a trial and error menthod.
Lynksis - Cisco router
1) I reset my router network setting
2) Configured the band from " Mixed" to "G Only"
3) The network's computer was unplugged from the physical LAN port connect of the Wifi & was put to the use the same Wifi band
4) Configured the router to "router" rather than a "gateway"
Ultimately i am not still sure what rectified the problem but it work perfectely fine now... not missing on any notifications and the internet works seamless on the ipad finally, just like how it use to when i first got it
