When I updated my iPad2 and iPhone 4 to iOS6, I had no problems with any WLAN-connection.

Then I bought another iPhone 4, which refused only to connect to my Netgear router - all the other connections went well.

Netgear support gave several advices and the most simple helped: Change the default-SSID of the router to any other name, connect all devices by reentering the password and that's it!

I did a network reset on my iPod gen 4 and it finally let me connect to my wifi here at home.. smylekids wrote about it earlier.. it does work!!! My gen 4 iPod and my daughters iPhone 4 had gone rouge and only let us connect to my neighbors free wifi, doing the network reset, that reset fixed them both.

I found it under settings under general, go to bottom of page, find and click on reset and click on reset network. This will make your phone reset ONLY the networks you wont loose any networks in your area all you do it after it resets from the apple logo screen,  then re enter in your password on the wifi you want and IT WORKED for me and my daughters phone.. Best of luck

This is crap!  So you got to "reset network setting" everytime you have a problem connecting, meaning almost everytime you to to another wifi area?  That is simply a huge BUG in iOS 6.

    Hi all,

I hate to say, that this was one of the first things I tried on my iPad 2 and iPhone 4S with absolutely no change in wifi connectivity. My iPad 2 seems to be much more stable in the new Belkin 450 db 5 ghz router. However, my iPhone 4S can't see the 5 g network, and will only connect to the 2.4 ghz network with no security. This is a pretty terrible fix, but seems to be working for now. Good luck everyone!

I'm having the same problem after updating and installing the new iSO 6.0.1 for my iPhone, I have not been able to pickup any Wi Fi singles at home or out side of my home unless I’m sitting next to a wireless device. As soon a I move away (2 feet) the Wi Fi single is dramatically decreased. Is their a fix for this bug with the iSO 6.0 that will restore my iPhone 3gs back to it's ability to receive normal WiFi signals?

Might not solve anything but it does change the version.

Think to get a normal signal back, get another 3gs without iOS 6.

Anything that resembles having IOS 6 loaded, will probably turn out to be a Bad Apple communicating with various WiFi Vendor Models and their firmware versions.

For personal use, if you cant consult with your WiFi Vendor to upgrade/downgrade firmware and you've pretty much tried all the past solutions, then you're in the same boat as everyone else.

you sit and wait to hope for a new IOS release to fix these WiFi Issues OR you buy yourself another WiFi Device

Though another i have though of and i havent seen any post this..

If you have an Iphone 4S and upgraded from IOS5 to IOS6 AND you're still under warranty, has anyone tried to send their phone away for repair/replacement and just state there is a Wireless Connectivity Fault.

Just say you have two Iphone 4S's at home with same settings, one works and the other doesnt.

When/IF you get the iphone 4S replacement, i wonder whether it will come with the factor IOS or will they put IOS 6 on it ?

Everyone give this a try if you can

    Steve,

Thanks for the direction.  This issue has been driving me nuts ever since I upgraded to iOS 6 on the iPad.  I changed the settings on the Apple Airport Extreme and it worked flawlessly all day long.  Thank you thank you.

I just recently purchased an ipad 4 and I am having the same problem with my Wi Fi connection. when i brought it back to the apple store to see what the problem could be, the technical support guy told me that my Windows computer is interfering my wifi connection. Is that possible to happen? Because when I talked to my friend who also have and apple product she said that hers worked just fine. Pls. help, this is very frustrating.

i'd gamble and say the Apply guy needs a whack over the head to take advantage of yourself "if you're not tech savvy" a little bit

If its BRAND new, the quickest thing would be to take the device to a friend/family to see if it works in their WiFi and vice versa, get them to come to yours. If all tests are positive then you probably are in the same boat as all of us.

Return Device and get a new one before warranty runs out

And Dare i say what someone else said.... I wouldnt recommending IOS 6 products to anyone at this point till these WiFi issues are sorted out, unless you want to feel our pain ?

Otherwise, there's plenty of articles here you can try to get around your connectivity issues. On the other hand, no-one shouldnt need to apply complicated adjustments just to get it working.

We are all in a catch-22 problem here

I have an ipad mini with ios 6.0.1, and the only time I'm able to connect to my wifi is when I bring the ipad very close to the router maybe like two inches apart and it worked perfectly, however when I move from the router I get that "unable to join the network" as soon as I start walking towards the router, BAN! connection has been successful.

Meanwhile my iphone 4/s with ios 6.1, ipod touch 4G, 1pad 2G 6.0.1 work with no issues whatsoever.
