Since Mountain Lion upgrade, the Device Manager on my HP Photosmart C3180 All In One Printer won't work. HP supports the upgrade (so they say) and I have installed HP driver update from Apple. Want to scan and send image in an email. HP won't respond to question about updating the other function originally supplied with the software such as the device manager. Since Power PC applications are no longer supported, is it possible to get the Device Manager update somewhere? Printer and scanner work just fine with driver updates. Thanks.

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Device Manager is a PPC based app (look in System Information - Applications - Kind) for verification therefore it will not work. It hasn't been supported since Mountain Lion was released well over a year ago. Do yourself a favor and follow HP's instructions for uninstalling all of the HP software then use Software Update to get the most up-to-date info. As a general run downloading 3rd party drivers (HP in your situation) to run your equipment isn't a good idea.

I believe what you are looking for is the "Full feature driver", there is currently not one available for your printer.

Your best bet would be to remove the previous software (device manager) that is not working.

    Hi Golfbuddy,

Just wondering if you performed the steps above, and if so, did it resolve your issue?

    I work with HP.

Thanks. Unfortunately, the function to scan a document and sent it out in an e mail as an attachment appears to be lost. I do still have the ability to print and/or scan a document, but it appears no one is going to upgrade this function for OS X 10.8.2 on the iMax. Like you said, the Full Feature Driver is no longer available for my present software. Unless I am missing something? Thanks again.
