I went to a concert tonight and took a few shots with my new i5, much like I always did with my i4. the pictures were TERRIBLE!

Is there an update? Did I get a bad phone? I've only had the phone a few days, if this is the type of photos I can expect from the i5 I may just switch to another phone.halestorm2 070.JPG

First off an "i5" in my opinion is a processor from Intel the Core i5.... second I'll pretend you said "iPhone 5".

So it would appear you're in a low light situation.  I can't say for your experience with your iPhone 4 and low light situations but my iPhone 4S leaves something to be desired in low light situations.  It is a PHONE, not a camera.  Next it looks like you're using the digital zoom feature.  This feature is not like optical zoom.  It simply enlarges the pixels given how many pixels the iPhone 5's camera is working with this usually isn't a big deal, however in low light the image is already grainy and you're really just making the grainy quality worse by digitally zooming.

If you want to get fantastic shots in all situations buy a real camera not a phone.

It also has a pattern across it that looks a lot like the plastic film as been left on the back of the phone!

Might not of course, but just thought I'd throw that in as it's happened before
