Hi,

I've got a laptop that required a new hard drive, and all my Apple backups are gone. I'm now trying to restore my system using an external drive as my backup source, and it seems my music and apps are all there. Unfortunately, I now have a restored library of music that contains many duplicates. Some are legit -- live versus studio recordings, and the same studio song on two different albums, but I've got hundreds of other duplicates.

Is there a quick way to delete these, or do I have to remove them one by one?

Also, it seems I have authorized 4 of 5 computers, when I only have one laptop that I use with my phone. Is there a way to reset this count?

Thanks,

Matt

for the last question, open itunes

at the top of the pape, the line beside the apple, click on store and you will see authorized computer

    Hi III,

I tried looking for what you mentioned, but I no longer see the apple logo in the latest release of ITunes (must be my settings). In any case, the store menu includes a deauthorize computer option but that only appears to work with the current computer.

    Thanks,

    Matt
