Q: Help please ASAP I just need to save my work to a disc !!!!

IQ have a Mac book pro 2007 late edition it turns on but all it does is think with the apple on the screen or shows the blue screen with just the cursor what should I do? I don't have tech support and I just would like to reboot the system maybe? I would hate to pay for the tech support if the problem can be fixed by a helpful person!!! Please rescue me!!!

    Your files are probably safe on your Hard drive, regardless of whether your Mac will start normally or not.

     

    Restart while holding down the Shift key. This does one cycle of Disk Utility ( Repair Disk ), then loads minimal extensions and comes up with a login screen (even if you normally auto-login).

     

    Look around. See if anything seems different. Let us know if there is any change the next time you try to start normally.
