I've tried restoring it to factory settings, I've already went through the troubleshoot section - nothing works! My sim card works on other phones perfectly fine (T-Mobile but it says EE)..

What should I do?

I've tried resetting everything.

I've tried repositioning the sim card.

I've tried putting the T-Mobile sim card into another phone and it works.

I've done a factory restore by putting it into the DFU settings and then restoring it via itunes.

When I try to call from the iphone, it goes *BEEP BEEP BEEP* Call Ended.

When someone tries to call my iphone, it goes "I'm sorry, calls are currently not being connected to this number."

When someone sends a text to the iphone, the iphone doesn't receive it.

It is on IOS 6.0.1. Not jailbroken or unlocked. It's with T-Mobile. This is my White iPhone 4 16gb.

The T-Mobile sim card works on other phones, but not on the iPhone.

The iPhone also shows a full 5 bar connection.

What's going on?? How can I fix this?? Can somebody please help me?? =/

    Not jailbroken or unlocked.

Then there is no way it can work with T-Mobile USA, which is not an official iPhone carrier.  Only unlocked iPhones can be used with that carrier, and even then there are multiple incompatibilities with the T-Mobile system.

Still, it appears that your phone is carrier locked to another carrier.  Where did you get it?

The fact that it was unlocked "in a shop" means that unauthorized (hacking) methods were used. Only the carrier to which the phone is locked can officially unlock it. Any phone that was hacked to unlock will re-lock to its original carrier whenever the iOS is updated or restored.

They told me they paid a shop a £50 to unlock the phone when they first bought it a year ago.

Sorry, but your phone is unsupportable.  It was hacked. There is a very good chance that it is permanently bricked.

Go back to the 'very kind lady' you purchased it from and get your money back.  Explain that by having it 'unlocked' at a shop, they permanently damaged the phone. ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it.

It may very well never function as a phone again. You can call it whatever you want.

Unfortunately, you can't get help for it here. Discussing hacked and jailbroken devices is forbidden by the terms of service here.

I bought an iphone 4 recently that is locked to orange and have this EXACT same issue.

As i say it is not jailbroken or anything.. locked to orange, new orange sim.  Everything works but will not send/ recieve calls or texts. Says the same as yours.

Did you ever find a solution??

Please let me know, tried everything. Phone is fine in every other sense.  Worked fine with the person i bought it from,
