Q: Wireless Network

I have an Airport Extreme base station and 3 airport expresses. hhich is better to set the expresses; join a wireless network or extend a wireless network?  Please advise.

AirPort Extreme 802.11n (4th Gen), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

    It depends on what you want the AirPort Express to do.

     

    If you want the Express to provide a signal for AirTunes, a remote printer, and "extend" the wireless signal from the AirPort Exteme to provide a stronger wireless signal in the area near the Express, configure the Express to "extend a wireless network".

     

    If you only want the Express to provide a signal for AirTunes or connect a remote printer....and you do not need any additional wireless coverage in area where the Express is located.....configure the Express to "join" a wireless network.
