I have had a lucky break. Alpine should have a firmware upgrade for my week old car stereo within a month. The missus can listen to her country music in the car... Lucky me.

It doesn't help you guys though. For what it is worth my sister had the same problem with IOS 5. But she upgraded headset to solve problem.

It looks like IOS6 users are ahead of the rest of the world in Bluetooth, and will have to wait for the rest of the world to catch up.

    Apple philosophy.

    Hi,

In my case, my Alpine CDE-133BT head-unit had previously worked perfecty with my iphone 4, iOS 5. Audio streaming and voice dial, calling was perfect.

After updating my iphone 4 to iOS 6, I lost the ability to control the phone via bluetooth:

    • I can listen to streamed audio if I start the phone playing using the phone, but no track information is displayed on the head-unit at all.
    • I can make calls but only if I initiate them with the phone. The call will be streamed through the Alpine system once it's initiated though. I can answer incoming calls with the head-unit, that's the only control that still works from the head-unit.

I recently upgraded to an iPhone 5 with iOS 6 and have exactly the same issues as before, so the problem is iOS 6 specific.

Does anyone know if Alpine will be offering a firmware patch for the CDE-133BT unit to support iOS 6?

To fix Personal Hotpost Wifi problems and Skype Calls dropping out just turn of Facetime and it will be normal - a temporary fix until Apple Fix it

Have found no fix for Bluetooth problem

Why won't Apple acknowledge their updates caused this

I have an bluetooth issue with my iPod Touch 4G and iOS 6. I have a W202 C-Class and a Sony BT Mex 2600 radio. I connected the iPod to the BT Mex and it works for only one Day. Now my iPod connected i press play and no music in my car. The controls from my radio to the iPod are working. Only the music can not streamed.

Yeah, I am having the same problem with the same Alpine unit. I called Alpine about it a month ago, and--at the time--they said they would not be pushing a patch. Although a recent poster indicated Alpine WILL be pushing a patch (@https://discussions.apple.com/people/reluctant_apple_support), I now wonder whether this Apline unit can even accommodate a firmware update (the manual doesn't reference the process to follow to update the firmware).

Regardless, I'll close by echoing what many have already written here: this is a big and notable BOMB on Apple's part. Very disappointing. @TimCook: please get a better handle on your products again.

The Alpine CDE-133BT does support upgradable firmware via USB flashdrive. I know there was one update for the European model previously.

Here's hoping Alpine releases an update soon. It can't be good for their sales when their head-units don't work with iOS6 / iPhone5 at all.

Agree that Apple needs to be way more proactive about testing when changing this stuff. It's not okay when their sw update breaks integration with other products and there's no easy way to back out of the update. With control/power comes responsibility...

Nokia Bluetooth BH-905i headphones connected seamlessly with iOS 6.0.1 on iPhone 4 and iPad 3rd generation, but thereafter problems start.

In case of the iPhone 4, the Bluetooth connection works fine but it kills the WiFi, making it impossible to find any WiFi station and I have to resort to using 3G, the moment I stop the audio play on the iPhone, WiFi magically appears back!. On the iPad, it seems to kill the WiFi slowly .. so first it makes it to slow to use WiFi (YouTube only buffers when I pause the video), and the then the Bluetooth connection completely drops having no audio but still maintaining the connection. In both cases some this Bluetooth / WiFi interference is killing the pleasure of using Apple devices!

This only happened after upgrading to iOS6. I had excellent experience with Nokia BH-905i in iOS 5. Funny thing is the older Nokia Bluetooth BH-204 still works perfectly!

Judging from the above posts. I am not sure that buying a new Bluetooth headset is the solution with all those issues. Apple really needs to re-enable their older Bluetooth interface stack back and fix this by iOS 6.1 !

I tried all the reset, hard reset, unpair solutions, nothing works

    iOS 6.0.1

I received my TuneLink Auto back from New Potato for the RMA.  My Bluetooth connection is much more stable.  It would still disconnect but only once a week. Even then no repairing is needed.

Having problem with my Beats By Dre wireless bluetooth. Cuts in and out since ios 6 was fine before. Contacted Beats and they are aware of this but its in Apple update. I will patiently wait for an update to fix this (maybe) and then wait to see what else gets ruined in the process. Just want to say thanks to Apple once again for making a good product absolutely junk. I would not expect any less!

I also have a problem connecting my car subaru XV stroke! The BT connection is well found but it is lost at each stop of the engine with the iPhone 5. I had no problem with the iPhone 4. This is not the iOS but although the iPhone 5!

I just bought brand new blue tooth speaker as my old one died, the connection is constantly dropping in and out, really annoying to listen to. I never had this problem before OS6 is it possible to go back to OS 5?

I have iPhone 4S and ipad 3 gen. Having personal hotspot problems since ios 6 even after latest upgrade. Both wifi and Bluetooth will work and then fail to recognize the devices at a future sign up. I just had a possible break through with BT. Turn off both wifi and BT on iPhone, then request personal hot spot. Let iphone turn on wifi and BT in the personal hotspot dialogue. Voila it suddenly works with BT! At the time I had unpaired BT on the two not sure if that is part of the solution. I have tried the BT for many times since last night with no success, but its not the first time it has restarted so might just be a random occurrence. Don't understand why apple continues to ignore this real problem.

    I totally agree..

my 3rd gen Ipad and 3GS both connected to my MBP through bluetooth without issues.  but they won't talk to each other.

I was going to get the iPhone 5.  but now sit back and watch.  GS3 seems like a more and more attractive option with each pasing day..

Apple's arrogance at not acknowledging and fixing the issue is giving me the craps.. I was a happy 5.1.1, but utterly disappointed 6.0.1..
