I'm trying to figure out a way to hardwire my Air to our iMac for work file-sharing purposes.  Right now I have access via Airport to the 'Big Mac' files, but anything that's graphic-heavy is very slooow that way, and I'm getting tired of seeing the little rainbow circle of delay.  I saw a YouTube video advising use of an ethernet connection to hardwire two computers, but I have no ethernet plug-in on the Air.  Can you use an adapter to plug an ethernet into a USB?  Any suggestions would be very appreciated!!

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Yes you can get a USB to Ethernet adapter or if your Air has Thunderbolt you can get TB to Ethernet adapter. But you can also Copy that file over to your Air to work on it then move it back top the main system. That would be even faster, when working on it.
