Downgrading is not supported. Your profile indicates you have iOS 6.0.1. You cannot go back to iOS 6.0.

Well how about just restoring to my current version, 6.0.1? I can try and use the .ipsw file on my computer with itunes and it fails the restore with error 3194. I am getting very frustrated with apple's iphone and all the trouble I am having with it since the upgrade to v6.0.1. it is dead and I can't even get a restore to work with the current version. Is there a link to download a new .ipsw file for 6.0.1 firmware so I can try to restore it with that? Thanks for your help.

Thank you, I tried that and got an error 3014 and made sure all the requirements were met that it suggested about the error. Like the latest version of itunes (v11), mY WINxp is completely up to date, no other USB devices are plugged in, turned off the the firewall. I'm not sure where to go from here, except maybe the apple store approx. 30 miles away tomorrow. All this started when I clicked Restore from within itunes due to my iphone acting strange, like not updating apps from icloud. If the Restore button is going to cause all this trouble, maybe they should leave it out of itunes. Any more suggestions??? Thank you

Sometimes it takes multiple tries in Recovery Mode. I would try it another time or two, and if it still comes up with an error, the Apple Store should be able to help.

Thank you so much, you have been a great help and I did try it again and it got about half way through the verifying before getting an error -1 which I believe to be a hardware problem. So the apple store seems to be the best next place to go. thank you agian.
