Hidden mystery sound

A mystery I cannot solve... or correct: When I go online with Safari, there is a music loop that plays continously over whatever sound is coming from the current site. I vaguely recognize the sound clip but cannot figure where it came from and how I must have put it there ("there" being the unknown here, so I cannot go in and kill it).

Any and all suggestions welcome!

    Check your Dashboard widgets.

    what do you mean check dasboard widgets? I don't have any other than those that came with the imac, this is driving me insane does anybody have a clue as to what might be causing it. It astarted just a few months aga as far as i can tell.

    Amazingly it has just started again and I touched nothing
