I am running the latest Safari under Lion on a iMac 7,1. when ever I launch it it opens the last page from my previous session instead of going to the page I have set in the preferences. Ideas?

With Safari open, click on the name "Safari" in the upper left corner of your Menu Bar>click on "Preferences>click on "General"> in the line that reads "New Window Opens With" select the right hand dropdown box and set it to "HomePage".  That should solve the problem.

    Hope this helps

    See Below for 10.7:

In System Preferences > General, make sure the "Restore" box is NOT checked.
