Can you try changing your sync options -- like turn off photo syncing, then turn off calender syncing, etc. As a way to determine which type of media is causing the crash.

There appears to be an issue with apps. I have had a dozen or so crashes when attempting to sync apps. I thought it was local to a single bad app, but this is not the case. Apparently, there is some issue updating apps that are already on the phone, after a new version has been downloaded. I am still trying to reproduce the issue, but in the meantime, my suggestion is to manually update the apps on your phone. Or, if necessary, delete the app from your phone and reinstall. Please post your progress.

I'm having problems too, only I can't even get iTunes to acknowledge that there is a device connected at all. "Libraries" finds it right away, the phone double-checks that I want to trust this computer--but iTunes is totally oblivious that there's a phone there.
