This only happens with one of the user logins on my imac

Safari doesn't udate history, both new stuff and things I deleted. It doesn't update bookmarks or top sites. The latest history it has is from November 30.

When I start Mail, it laways opens with something I received on November 30. It does keep mail I've received since then and mail I've deletd stays deleted.

Software Update comes up every time I log in, and it resets to Check Weekly, even after I set it to monthly, or uncheck the box. Other System Preferences seem to keep resets.

I reinstalled Mail & Sfari form disk, but that didn't help.

Also, my desktop, whch I have set to randomly select form a folder, always starts with the same picture.

I'm not sure, but I think this behavior started a few days ago, not on November 30 or December 1. Other user logins work fine.

iPad, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
