I have installed windows 8 pro onto my mac successfully, however the optical disk drive is not recognized? Works fine on the Mac side of things, but when I boot up Windows there's no signs of any disk drive being there. Anybody know of any way to get the disk drives working or is it literally just to wait for the drivers to be released?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities

Boot Camp isn't compatible with Windows 8, so it's normal that hardware doesn't work under that edition. Wait until Apple launches new Boot Camp drivers or use Windows 7. Also, you can install Windows 8 in a virtual machine

You Have to run Bootcamp 4 or 5 (640MB) Setup.exe in Windows 8 for device driver installation.

You can see devices that Windows sees and those it can't figure out in Device Manager.

You can get to Device Manager by putting cursor in lower left corner of screen, where, when you see Start pop-up with a whole bunch of colours, you right click mouse.

    Err, NO

There are no Windows 8 drivers available from Boot Camp.
