Hi,

I am running windows 7 32bit on my 2010 mac mini, and wish to upgrade to windows 8.  So 2 questions:

1.  I do NOT have OSX installed anywhere on this machine, so how can I get the latest bootcamp drivers for my machine?  Running bootcamp assistant is not an option, unless running it from my macbook air (2010) somehow would work.

2.  Is there any way to upgrade from win 7 32bit to win 8 64bit?  Or do I have to do a fresh install?

Thanks!

Mac mini, Windows 7

Unless I missed the release of Win8 for Bootcamp, it's not supported yet. Did you erase your OSX? How are you booting through Bootcamp?? Try a restart holding "Command + R" from there you could make a bootable USB thumbdrive.

You can only download the Windows drivers in OS X, so you have to install OS X and open Boot Camp Assistant to download drivers. Then, install them on Windows. You can install Windows 8 if you want, and upgrade Windows on a Mac, but you have to use a special utility that Apple launches with every new Windows; for example, to upgrade from Windows Vista to 7, you have to use the Windows 7 utility > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL977

However, Boot Camp doesn't support Windows 8 because Apple hasn't launched updated drivers, so wait until Apple launches them

When RRFS said Bootcamp doesn't support Win8 yet is that

the drivers for the Apple specific hardware may not be Win8 friendly

    yet.

If I were you, check out any install pitfalls that people are running into

    in the Bootcamp forum. (https://discussions.apple.com/community/windows_software/boot_camp)
