I have a new Infiniti 2013 G37S Coupe and an iPhone 5.  I cant answer calls.  Contacted Infiniti and the iPhone 5 is still not an approved bluetooth device.  Waiting to hear back from them when it gets approved..

I am having the same problem with a 2012 G37X.  Incoming calls cut off when press answer button. Frustrating to say the least.  Any current news on the issue ?

Was just at the Infiniti dealership last week.  Gave me an 800 number to call (Infiniti USA, option 7) and finally was connected to someone in their "Bluetooth Group" (if you can believe such a group exists, you ask for them by name).

The guy in the Bluetooth Group at Infiniti told me they were aware of the issue and that their engineers have been in touch with Apple regarding this problem.  (Now whether or not that means they have contacts with Apple's actual engineering group, or they called the same 800-MY-APPLE number we do, who knows...).

This same person said that Apple is working on a fix and that an Apple iOS update (not an update to the  Infiniti headunit software) would resolve the issue and be coming out from Apple.  He also said that this same issue was affecting other makes of cars (don't know if he was just talking about Nissan, or other brands outside of the family).

So, I think the general answer is wait....

I imagine that the fix will be baked in with some iOS update over the next 6 months that won't even mention the Bluetooth car fix, one day we'll update our phones and notice it works again.

Until then, we have very expensive Bluetooth speaker phones that don't work as they should...

I have a 2011 EX35 with the same issue with my iPhone 5 and my wife's.  but I also have the same problem with my earbud Motorola bluettooth device, so the issue has to be on the Apple side.

I have a 2013 FX37 Special Edition that I took delivery of the first week of October and an iPhone5 a couple weeks prior.  I've had this same issue since day one.  Any calls that I receive I can't hear nor can the caller hear me, the stereo goes on Mute, but I can't hear the caller.  However when I make a call out it works fine.  Hoping a fix comes soon.

I found a solution...though it's not ideal.  Answer the phone manually with your iPhone not the car controls.  Answer it in speaker mode or iPhone mode, not "my car" mode (aka the problematic car mode), then after a couple seconds hit"my car" and voila you should be able to talk ok.  I've been doing this when I get an incoming call

    I just spoke with

Apple. They are unable to tell me when or if a patch will become available. They suggest returning phone for a 4S or a Droid.  REALLY??????     I have a 2010 G37S

My wifes 2012 G37S Limited Edition is doing something similar, Anytime i call her in the car, she can not hear me at all.  It also has a timely delay to allow her to speak whenever she initiates a call from her car.  I notice that she is still on iOS 6.0 and I have not updated her yet.

Is everyone having issues running iOS 6.0 or 6.0.1?

    Once again:

    The answer is wait.

care to share that number... I'll take it off-line.  I'm an Appleseeder and Beta Tester for a few more software companies and would love to talk more with people that "get it."  I had a lenghty coversation with the sales and service people about remote starting my wifes car when I was purchasing it last X-Mas and they clearly didn't understand that all the tech infustructure was already there for allowing remote start...  Shortly afterwards the JX came out with the four button key fob.  I told then that I dont mind buying new fobs to allow for remote start.

Was at the dealer today and the service manager told me there is a fix for the problem. A Bluetooth update will be available in about a week or two for installation.  He said an Infiniti tech was at the dealership with a test copy last week and they tried it in a G. The phone now works fine. He is calling me as soon as he gets his release copy  and he  will install as soon as I can get to the dealership.

Hopefully this will be the answer

Will let everyone know when it's done.

Was at the dealership today.  They replaced the mic on FX 35 2012 with a dual mic.  Quality is better but no software update to fix the answering issue on iPhone 5.  6.1 is out on Beta right now.  I'm going to try tomorrow.  Has anyone attempted on 6.1?  Success?  I will post a follow up.

All - I just updated my iPhone 5 to 6.1 Beta 3.  It fixed the issue!  Either download the Beta if you have access to it or wait until Apple's formal release.  Good luck!   I'm happy!

The reports by BarryD123 and Collaboration are both encouraging. It seems fixes are coming from both Apple and Infiniti. Given the most recent post, I wonder whether the Infiniti update is even necessary. Perhaps it addresses another issue as well.

Does anyone know if the bluetooth update will apply to slightly older Gs as well?  I have an '08 G35S and the bluetooth has not been working properly since iOS 5.

I would like to believe Apple is working on a fix, but I'm skeptical at this point.  I've been on the phone with them and visited the Genius Bar twice.  They basically said there's nothing they can do.
