It's not so much features; I can usually get use to anything once I use it a few times. But iTunes 11 doesn't work. It is taking hours to sync my iphone, so I suspect it is not actually doing the backup. When I click to pause, it freezes. Sometimes iTunes doesn't recognize the iphone is connected to the PC. 10.7 was working fine. How can we get a response from Apple.  Seems like the media would. But PCmag gave a very positive review 4.5 stars. Ironically, it quoted Apple:

"The revamped iTunes was originally scheduled to go live by the end of October. But Apple said several weeks ago the at it needed a few more weeks because "we wanted to take a little extra time to get it right."  "

Then, PCmag doesn't use less perfectly configured computers like the rest of us.

CNet is closer with 3.5 and some caveats - also some tips:

    http://www.cnet.com/1770-5_1-0.html?query=itunes+11&tag=srch

But nothing about what to do when it just doesn't work. Problems need more publcity.

Attention Apple: If Itunes 11 is revolutionary as you claim it to be, Why is this thread the largest in the forum ??? hm... maybe it's not revolutionary.. and it's horrible

For me, iTunes 11 is the last nail in the coffin.

I've been using apple products since my childhood in the 90's, i use them at work, at home, for everything. For years i'd been totally satisfied with them: apple products were designed to suit and to ease the needs of the user (in contrary to windows, for instance), who was in the center of the concept. This was a sufficient justification to pay higher prices.

For something like three years, this philosophy has apparently changed. Every OS update since then has been disappointing. Let's just cite the abandon of rosetta, those stupid "relative-width" tabs in safari, the reverse of mouse-scrolling, the hiding of the library folder, and too many other examples to mention them all. And now, the this "new" sluggish itunes 11 that makes me feel like using windows media player in its worst years.

The feeling coming out of these "updates" is that i'm no longer free to do what i want on my computer, that i'm more and more "guided" to locked up environments such as the app store, itunes store or whatever. And finally, it's just like my mac is being like one more advertisement screen.

Maybe it's a consequence of their strategy to merge Mac OS and iOS. First of all, it's absurd, because a computer and a phone aren't the same thing and don't need to have the same OS. Anyway, their are doing it the wrong way: Mac OS is progressively turning into a big cell phone, at least since snow leopard. And also it's becoming a locked up system. What is the next step? Forbiding us to download apps elsewhere than in the app store (this is exactly where "Gatekeeper" is getting us to)? A finder with only three buttons? Or a locked up file system like in iOS?

Apple is becoming a prison for users, and a golden one, since we all pay high prices to enter it.

The only logical response to this situation is leaving the sinking ship.

New Year's resolution 2013: From now on i will stop buying apple products and i will as much as possible stop using Mac OS or iOS.

I don't care how much time or difficulty it will take: Ubuntu, i'm coming!

To amplify: I have never posted on this forum. I have never had a problem with iTunes. I never thought much about it--except that it did seem a little bloated.

However, after struggling with iTunes 11 for a while, I finally realized the problem was either me or the program. I came here looking for answers. I found them: it's not me.

I sceond Kenton22's comment. If Apple rellay cared about it's customers, a rep would be on here defending the company's position and decision or explaing why the new Verions 11 is go great. Do you see them? I don't.

It's the "we're smarter than our customers" philosophy.

No, it's the "this is a user-to-user support forum and Apple doesn't post here forum".

"Apple strives to bring the best personal computing experience to students, educators, creative professionals and consumers around the world through its innovative hardware, software and Internet offerings. Apple welcomes your feedback on its products."

Well said - I 'm totally in favor of upgrades but, there is no upgrade to Itunes 11.

Agreed.  I'm computer savy and I upgraded to Itunes 11 on the first day, and it was a terrible experience.  I reverted back to 10.7 and uncheck auto-update.

I'm running around with my hair on fire with this new itune 11 "upgrade".  Hate it too and can't seem to find help for a fix.  I'm relatively new to Apple stuff.  My sister has raved for years about all of it (Apple that is), but so far my frustration level is at an all time high.  Major question is why this new version of itunes won't play a list of songs sequentially, unless you add one song at a time to the "Next ditty thing" up above????  It's a pain in the headache.  I think I saw a you tube video on how to download the old version.  I'm going there next.

dear itunes folks, get your mojo on and get back to work!

It's good to know I'm not alone.  I actually got a response to my email from Apple; their suggestion was to download the latest version of iTunes!  ***!  I'll try some of the suggestions I've gotten from this forum.  Thanks to everyone for your comments.  In my reply to Apple I suggested they check their forums to get some information.  We'll see what happens.

I HATE, HATE, HATE the upgrade!  I've seen others have reverted, how did you do that?  I just wanted to find and album, and it's freaking alphabetized by artist!  ***?!  I want to listen to a soundtrack but I guess I have to listen song by freaking song!  I also prefer a LIST, not a catalog!  I want out!  Any help here?  Also, why can't we email support????  I don't want to spend an hour on hold for some a-hole to tell me he can't help me.  GRRRR!!!!

Looks like they took away some of the best software design talent from the iTunes developer pool to try and fix the diaster of apple maps for the iPhone, and they wrecked iTunes. What's next???
