When I try to print a picture from Aperture to my Canon MP495, the color is completely washed out.  I tried both the printer-managed color profile & the generic CYMK profile with the same result.  In one case the print window said to turn on color management in the printer, in the other case it said to turn it off.  I can't find any place in the printer windows to control this feature.  The same photo prints from iPhoto w/o a problem, although the colors do not exactly match what is on the screen.  iPhoto does give me the option of picking the photo paper (Glossy II in my case) which Aperture does not.  What am I overlooking?

After much experimentation, I believe I have found the problem that produces washed out prints on myCanon Mp495,  & a workaround.  After clicking >Filet>Print Image, & making sure that the Color Profile is set to "Canon IJ Color Printer Profile", then clicking >Print>Color Matching (expand the menu labeled "Layout"), I noticed that the box marked "Color Sync" is checked rather than "Canon Color Matching", & that the menu is grayed out so it cannot be changed. (Going thru the same process w iPhoto allows this change to be made, & also gives access to "Color Options" farther dpwn in the menu.

The workaround: either print from iPhoto, making sure that "Canon Color Matching" is checked

    or

click>PDF>Open PDF in Preview, then print from Preview, making sure that  'Canon IJ Color Printer Profile" & "Canon Color Matching" are checked in their respective menues.

I hope Apple will fix this bug, along with the one that prevents saving pictures from mail directly into Aperture or iPhoto/
