Dec 15, 2012 6:16 PM in response to Kappyby Winston Churchill,But you can't keep your 500 photos in photostream permanently and you can't not have them on your phone when they are in photostream, both of which the OP appears to want to do.

Dec 15, 2012 6:17 PM in response to stevejobsfan0123by Kappy,I'd guess it was a lot more than 1,000. That many photos wouldn't take up a GB of space unless they were all full-sized TIFFs. Right now I have just over 1 GB of "Other" on my Touch. I have 1100 photos (I don't know how it got that high unless there are dupes) that take up less space than "Other" does.

Dec 15, 2012 6:28 PM in response to Kappyby Winston Churchill,I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to be looking at, that page lists the maximum number of photos you can upload over a given period of time, which I believe is another subject.

Dec 15, 2012 6:42 PM in response to Winston Churchillby Kappy,Sort of the same thing given Apple's explanation. They've certainly made no effort to have me delete those I've uploaded since I did not exceed any limits.

Dec 15, 2012 6:43 PM in response to Appletini6by Winston Churchill,If you are wanting to keep your photos on your Mac, you can do that with photostream, but you must make sure they are imported into iPhoto before deleting them from your phone. You would also need to delete them twice, once in the camera roll and once in the photostream album. I don't know whether its a requirement of yours, but doing this will not allow you to access them from your phone.

Dec 15, 2012 6:47 PM in response to Kappyby Winston Churchill,You can only keep 1,000 photos in photo stream, you can only keep them in photostream for 30 days. Your photostream album, be it on your phone, iPod or whatever is not what's in photostream. If you turn photostream off and then re-enable it again, you will find it won't put all the photos back that were there before you turned it off, assuming they aren't all new photos.
