i have long - LONG - struggled with this one off and on - updated firmware - itunes - and airport utility

the clue for me was that some other posts mentioned failure if ipv6 was disabled - and because i was having trouble with both window and macs connecting to my airport express i suspected my router

so i have dd-wrt running on my router - looked into "enabling" ipv6 for it and the guides said to enable both the "ipv6" and "radvd" options (my "radvd" was disabled)

after doing so i was immediately able to connect with the airport utility and finaly with iTunes (ont the windows box - disconnect and then attempt to connect with mac isn't working - but that's a different issue - sigh)

    versions involved:

    airport express firmware 6.3

    windows 7 home premium 64bit

    itunes 10.6.1.7

    airport utility 5.5.3

    mac osx 10.7.5

    itunes 10.6.1.7

    airport utility 5.6

Removing the Quartz Composer Visualizer plugin from Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins seems to have resolved this issue for me.

Yes solved it for me too. However I found the pesky little plug-in in Internet Plug-ins folder, not in iTunes

This won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I run DNS on the same server hosting my family iTunes library.   After some DNS housekeeping I've not had the problem again.   The other computers, such as laptop with copies of the iTunes files, never had the problem, so I honed in on the server configuration.   (Lion Server, BTW).   In short, it may be in part a domain resolution issue.

I encountered the error -15006 when rearranging my two Time Capsules and two Airport Expresses. The problem solved when I put them separated for more than 3 meters away. My configuration is: Internet via ethernet to time Capsule 3 TB, set as "Create Network", dan from this to all three other using wi-fi and set as "Extend this network". I suspect interference has something to do here.
