Sorry, not sure how this will help me. I did a quick look at the websites mentioned. I have had the iPad for a year now, and no email problems. Last week it semed to stop sending me bulk emails, and some other random ones. I didn't change any settings. Why now? And where is a spam folder for the iPad?
There is no spam folder for the iPad unless you are using an IMAP type of account and a spam folder is included as part of that.
I agree with your opening remarks but my suggestions were made on trying to second guess what all your circumstances may have been.
Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank power On again in the normal way.] It is absolutely/appsolutely safe!
Did get resolved for you? My wife has the same issue occuring right around the same time. One commonality we seemed to notice was that she recieves emails from people in her Contacts but not others. Or it might be from those she has sent an email to from the iPad 2.
All the emails come to her iMac. (Which is Snow Leopard.) ANd the email account is a me.com
Maybe there was an update that messed this up?
I have searched far and wide -- and I usually can find an solution for Mac issues fairly quickly -- but I have not found an answer. It is driving me crazy.
