    1. Close all inactive apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two and tap the minus sign to close app.

    2. Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple Logo

Try Settings -> Safari -> Clear History and Clear Cookies and data.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?

Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.

Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

Try another browser... iCabMobile, Chrome, etc...

Else, restore with your backup or as new.

While this may be a workaround, it seems that Apple doesn't consider this to be a real priority to fix.  The crashing problem has been around for me on two different iPads - a 1 and a 3 - for a couple releases.  Both my iPads have plenty of memory and nothing else crashes on them.  Not a good example of QC.
