The javadeveloper_for_os_x_2012005__11m3811.dmg is no longer available from the Apple developer site. Apple does all that we don't have a working java version. (1.7 has to many bugs and isn't an alternative solution for me at the moment.)
Do you have a working link to a JDK or JRE 6 installer for OS X 10.8.2?

Thanks a lot! After the installation of the JDK, the Terminal gaves me back the right version: build 1.6.0_35-b10-428-11M3909. But the JavaWebStart exited with code: 97. I will testing further another day ...
THANKS anyway! Regards and bye bye.

are you on Mountain lion? If so and you dont have the preferences, are there java preferences in your System Settings app?
Either way i can get you the app onto your ftp so you can add it where it needs to be. You 'should' have the preferences in one of the two places.

Yes, OS X 10.8.2. I restored now the java preferences 14.4.0 in the utilities folder (from Timemachine).
But I can't start it:
19.12.12 00:18:15.607 com.apple.launchd.peruser.502: ([0x0-0x261261].com.apple.java.JavaPreferences) Exited with code: 1

I first removed the \Library \Internet-plugins - java plug in there. I also removed the java folders from /Library and /System/Library and rebooted. I doublechecked that java was not still installed from the terminal screen.
I installed that dev pack and i was able to get it all back to the original 1.6.0_35 including the internet plug-in for firefox.
Can u try that?

Certainly I did that first. But if I remove the JavaPlugIn in '/Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins', I delete also the JavaPreferencePane. If I don't remove the PlugIn, I have the JavaPreferencePane but I can't see there the 1.6 JRE from the dev pack.
The Question is also: How can I keep the JavaPreferencePane (from Java 1.7) and enable there the 1.6 JRE from the dev pack? Is any symbolic link required?

Hello and Merry Christmas! I am not an expert, just need your advice. After upgrading to 1.7 my bank application stopped working. I disabled the Java upgrade following the instructions at <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5559> and now I have the following: java version "1.6.0_35" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_35-b10-428-11M3909) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 20.10-b01-428, mixed mode). Yet I can't use my bank-client app, because Firefox plug-in is missing. How can I get it back? The 1.7 plug-in naturally, doesn't work because the bank requires 32-bit Java. Thanks, Anatoly St.Petersburg, Russia

APPLE DOES NOT SUPPORT ME. MY iPhone 4S (second purchase) WILL NOT PERFORM, nor do the geniuses. Just recommend I keep buying and reading their BOOKS on how to fix the phone MYSELF. WHERE IS APPLE ""SUPPORT" where have I not looked, called, driven. MY TIME SHOULD BE RESPECTED, and appple just **********!
