Q: "the last backup could not be completed"

The only way I finally fixed this after going through all the above suggestions (ie. syncing to computer, deleting backup, resyncing, restarting, etc. etc.) was to uncheck the photoroll from the list of apps to backup:

1. on ipad, go to settings>icloud>storage and backup

2. click manage storage

3. Click on the ipad (or whichever device is having issues)

4. under backup options, unchceck "camera roll"

Try manual backup and see if that works. Worked for me. I then rechcked the photo roll and the backup still works! Don't understand it, but solved the issue.

Rich, you are an absolute lifesaver. After trying every single thing under the sun, your simple "little trick" made it stop hanging at 75% of iCloud backup. (Also, backing up via USB caused an error, and I had just reformatted and was left with no backup.)

I was going to have to re-enter everything, and lose heaps of data.

i have tried everythings...ur suggest , and all the other here ...

i swip off all the apps and try to backup ... nothing .

looks like nothing work :\

try to close all apps running (click twice home button and so on)

reboot your phone

But the suggest to check my router was de one that solve my problem

I just chane wifi n poof.... Like a magic all work fast n fine

No swipe off nothing.

I just went to manage back up delete all back up and it works again!

After trying everything on the list nothing worked :( so I decided to restart my wireless router and boom both my ipad and iPhone back up to icloud now hope this helps

After fighting with trying to get my phone to backup I figured out why it was failing.

There are two separate areas for iCloud backup.

Make sure you delete the previous backups in both locations then do an manual backup.

iCloud location one:

Settings - iCloud - Storage and backup - Manage storage

iCloud location two:

Settings - General - Usage - Manage storage
