Interesting workaround. I can use this in limited ways, but it's global (every document, whenever my custom substitutions are checked on) and doesn't permit modifier keystrokes, so its flexibility is limited. But at least it's easier than typing them out every time.

If you had set up #n (or whatever) to be substituted by your name and address, why would you want it do something else? And how would you tell it what that soemthing else was without having another shortcut for it?
btw Maybe you are looking for something like QuicKeys or TypeitForMe.
