Dec 19, 2012 8:23 AM in response to temperwolfby Joff Day,Go to View, Show Sidebar. Should appear under Devices. ITunes 11 is a crap interface - you should be able to your phone at the top!

Dec 19, 2012 8:36 AM in response to temperwolfby Steve Taylor1,Can appear in two possible places.
1) in the new default itunes 11 interface it is the button to the left of the iTunes Store button. If you have two devices it will show as my screenshot just select device and it will take you to the Device Sync pages. Click on the Blue done button when finished and you will be back in your library.
2 View > Show Sidebar which will restore the sidebar as per iTunes 10 and you will see your device in the left hand window. Drag and drop or click on the device name to get the device Sync pages

Dec 19, 2012 9:29 AM in response to Joff Dayby Steve Taylor1,In the Main Panel you see the iTunes store. To see your devices top right you need to be looking at your library ie Music Movies whatever and they will show up top right if the sidebar is turned off as my screenshot.
If you have the sidebar turned on your devices will appear in there as per iTunes 10

Dec 19, 2012 9:34 AM in response to Steve Taylor1by Joff Day,So why did Apple decided to not have the devices connected show up at the top whatever you are looking at? It just seems less intuitive than previously. My wife was tearing her hair out trying to figure where her phone had gone

Dec 19, 2012 10:02 AM in response to Joff Dayby Steve Taylor1,Mine not to reson why. And I am certainly not going to argue with your wife. All I was pointing out was how Apple thought it a good thing to do. Users will be split between it's OK and I absolutely hate it. I think it is a nwe way of working but Apple could have managed the transition better. I hope your wife has calmed down now

Thank you for this! I'd been pulling my hair out, uninstalling & reinstalling iTunes, and nothing worked. It was the cable!
