Hello,

Anybody out there know the correct steps to importing .MXF video and audio files into FCP 7?

Also, do they come in already synched up?

Thanks!!!

32 bit floating is an internal setting. Material brought in at 16 bit will work fine. You do not need to do anything to "fix" this.

You can try Pavtube MXF Converter for Mac to transcode to ProRes 422 codec, and then you can import without rendering.

EastDavid...you are posting a solution to a problem that has already been solved.

And what do you mean "Import without rendering?" Import by converting to ProRes so then you can edit without rendering? That's what Log and Transfer does....converts to ProRes so you can edit without rendering.

You are just a tad late to this post.  Solved months ago...

Shane, It seems that all MXF-related threads were spammed early this morning.

They are all over the Cow too.  Looks like word of mouth and traditional advertising doesn't work for them.
