ipad malware

My gmail account was hacked today.  I changed my gmail password and I deleted all of my gmail messages, both incoming and outgoing.

 

I typically use my ipad for gmail, but I occasionally use my hp laptop.  I scanned my laptop and no malware was detected.

 

Now I'm concerned that my ipad is not secure.  Please advise.

    Your iPad is secure from malware. Google Mail is pretty secure too, but spammers routinely hijack Google Mail or any email addresses and forge their "from" addresses, frauduently implicating you as the sender. There is little you can do about this, other than to obscure or restrict your email address from potentially appearing somewhere the scam artists can see it.

     

    Your iPad is not the cause of this and there is nothing to scan.

    Malware does not run on iPad.

    It is the mail server that has been hacked, not the iPad, or you have been spoofed.
