The label could eventually have a number of standardized children.

 

 

The accuracy of the measure is in the same units as the measure itself.

 

 

The area over which the measure applies is not necessary in the data. It can be synthesized at the time of analysis. The confusion between where a measure is recorded and where it applies needs to be sorted out at the time the measure is recorded. For example, one measure with time stamp and space coordinates is the measure of a crime reported, with coordinates of a dispatch office. Another list would be required when the detective records an estimate for the time that the crime occurred, along with the accuracy radius. In that list, the space and time coordinates would apply to the crime itself, and the place and time of record would be part of the label information.

 

 

A dispatch might receive a report for a time and place of a crime, with unspecified time accuracy, though the report itself does have a specified time accuracy. The measure of the dispatcher would be one list for a time of a reported crime and one list for a place of a reported crime, but the two variables could be coordinated easily in analysis by the fact that both have the same occurrence in time and space. A case number or call number would be recorded in the label information.

 

 

Persons making micro measurements would have to set up their own local coordinate system, so that decimal latitude and longitude coordinates could be used from known local reference points, like gross elevation and latitude/longitude reference points for their lab table and experiment dish location, etc.

 

 

With these consideration, including the <identity> attribute in the <label> object, this xml format can be used for any profession and any measure, in both reporting and analysis.
